The favorite neighborhood watering hole is a local institution called Le Club Roc. But the recession has hit the Club as hard as it has the other local businesses. People have less dough to tank up during hard times, especially the seniors who frequent the club, as they feel the pinch on their discretionary income. The greedy bank and the money-hungry local real estate developer want to foreclose on the property as part of a huge redevelopment.
But this is the hang where the old (you should excuse the expression) gang congregates. It’s the landmark where friends get together. The Clubbers can’t let that happen. And they won’t. They have a plan. That plan involves singing and dancing and a lot of hits from the 1960s and the 1970s. You remember: back in the day when vocalists actually had to be able to sing, and musicians actually played instruments. And maybe the Club’s pretty waitress can distract the banker. (They’re mature, not dead.)
