Proudly from Winnipeg, Canada, Samantha is honored to be making her Broadway debut in such an iconic show. In Canada, she’s performed in regional premieres of August: Osage County (Jean), The Light in the Piazza (Clara, Vancouver Ovation Award nomination), Spring Awakening (Wendla), Nine (Carla) and Cats (Rumpleteaser). Other shows include Annie (Lily St. Regis), Chicago (Hunyak) and Beauty & the Beast (Belle). She received her BFA in Acting with distinction from the University of Alberta theatre conservatory and holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Winnipeg. Recently, she made her debut at Birdland in The Sweetest Sounds, a revue featuring music from Richard Rodgers to Adam Guettel. This fall, she’ll briefly head back to Canada to play Cosette in Cameron Mackintosh’s upcoming production of Les Misérables. Peter was introduced as the new Phantom at the 25th Anniversaries in London and New York. After completing a hugely successful run in the West End, Peter is honored to play the legendary role on Broadway. Peter’s work on stage, record, film and television has made him one of Scandinavia’s biggest stars. After being awarded a Swedish Tony for creating the role of Robert in Björn Ulvaeus’ and Benny Andersson’s musical Kristina, Peter was brought to London by Cameron Mackintosh to play Chris in Miss Saigon and later Michael in the original cast of The Witches of Eastwick. He received his second Swedish Tony as the Emcee in Cabaret. Peter has sold over one million albums, including the best-selling Swedish albums of 2006 and 2008, plus Scandinavia’s best-selling Christmas album of all time. He’s been nominated for three Swedish Grammy Awards and two of his TV specials have been nominated for the Silver Rose at the Rose d’Or Festival. Kyle Barisich

A native of Los Gatos, California, Kyle couldn’t be more excited to join the Broadway cast of Phantom. He was a member of the long-running national tour, and played Raoul for both the Los Angeles and final San Francisco engagements. Regional credits include South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl, Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods and Barrett in Titanic. Kyle co-created the lounge act parody A Touch of Vegas, which has played to sold-out crowds on both coasts. Named “Mr. USC” at his alma mater the University of Southern California, he went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music and the Esper Studio, under master acting teacher Bill Esper. PREVIOUS CAST MEMBER REPLACEMENT Hugh Panaro is thrilled to return to the Majestic. He is one of the few actors to have been cast as both The Phantom and Raoul in the Broadway production. Hugh was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for his performance in the title role of Elton John’s Lestat, based on Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. He made his Broadway debut in the original production of Les Misérables as Marius and created the roles of Buddy in Side Show (Sony cast recording) and Julian Craster in Jule Styne’s last musical, The Red Shoes. Hugh created the title role in the American premiere of Cameron Mackintosh’s Martin Guerre and made his West End debut in the original London Company of Harold Prince’s Showboat as Gaylord Ravenal. At the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Hugh received the Barrymore Award for his performance as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and was recently nominated for his performance as Fagin in Oliver!. As a concert artist, Mr. Panaro has performed with symphony orchestras all over the world and toured Europe with Barbra Streisand. Hugh is a graduate of Temple University. |
