'ROID RAGE, a 20-minute monologue performed by (alternates) Ilia Volok and James Black, is a sardonic and irreverent indictment of our self-absorbed culture of celebrity. Volok plays a professional athlete puffed-up on grandiosity and steroids who believes that to be less than famous means being something less than human. 'ROID RAGE is directed by Tommy Hicks.
BRIDGE, starring Jerry Boyd and directed by Kelly Galindo, is about a well-known jazz musician whose favorite place to practice is high up on the walkway of a big-city bridge. His nightly sessions are a creative and blissful experience for him--until his music begins to draw a succession of wounded souls who threaten to use his hideaway as a jumping-off point. BRIDGE is comprised of three separate scenes, in each one of which the musician finds himself locked in a life and death struggle with a suicidal person. |
