Following upon the fantastic success of the Muny production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, The Muny presents its premiere of Disney's Aladdin. The Muny production will be only the third production of this new stage musical adapted from the beloved animated feature to be produced anywhere in the world. Disney's Aladdin features the favorite movie characters and all of the beloved songs from the film’s Oscar®-winning score, plus never-before heard Menken/Ashman songs restored from early drafts of the film. Variety hailed this new full-length stage version of Aladdin as "fresh, funny and very entertaining."

JOHN TARTAGLIA is known as “Johnny” from Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites (nomination, Daytime Emmy award, Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series) on Disney Junior, World-wide. John made his Tony® awardnominated Broadway debut in Avenue Q, creating the roles of Princeton and Rod. Broadway: Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast), and originated the role of Pinocchio (Shrek the Musical). He joined PBS’s Sesame Street as a puppeteer at 16 years old, where he performed for more than 10 seasons. Other TV: Ugly Betty, The Today Show, and other children’s series. Films: Hotel Arthritis (upcoming). He recently conceived, hosted and directed Jim Henson’s Musical World featuring the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. John’s latest project, ImaginOcean, is currently on international tour. While off-Broadway at New World Stages, ImaginOcean was nominated for Unique Theatrical Experience by the Drama Desk Awards. It’s currently being developed with the Jim Henson Company for television, utilizing their revolutionary Digital Puppetry Studios system. John is currently resident director for Avenue Q, playing off-Broadway. He will be directing the upcoming Broadway musical, Because of Winn Dixie, written by Nell Benjamin with music by Duncan Shiek. His production company, Gables Grove Productions, is an up and coming multimedia family entertainment producer.

This marks his third appearance having also played in 2003’s Show Boat. THOM SESMA is thrilled to make his Muny debut with the Aladdin company, and equally thrilled to return to St. Louis after visits on tour (Miss Saigon) and at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Dinner With Friends, and, as director, Life (x) 3). Last year, he completed an acclaimed two and a half year run of The Lion King (playing Scar) in Las Vegas. Numerous NYC credits include many roles on and off-Broadway, in musicals and plays, in memorable hits and near-legendary flops, but he is particularly proud to have participated recently in the all-star Shinsai: Theaters for Japan benefit in NYC, in tribute to Japan’s recovery efforts after the tragic tsunami of March, 2011. Along with appearances at the St. Louis Rep, numerous regional credits include Yale Rep, McCarter, Old Globe, Arena Stage, Baltimore Centre Stage, Berkeley Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse. TV/Film: Person Of Interest, Third Watch, Law & Order, Whoopi, Trinity, Lay The Favorite, Over/Under (pilot), When I Grow Up (pilot), others.
