Starring Carolee Carmello & Bob Gunton
“A unique marriage of civilized wit and wild humor….Funny, elegant and totally cheerful.” said The NY Times about this 1978 inventive and sophisticated musical comedy by composer Cy Coleman (“Sweet Charity,” “Little Me”) and the ubiquitous Betty Comden & Adolph Green (“Bells Are Ringing”, “The Will Rogers Follies”). It takes place early in the 1930’s aboard a train on the 17-hour run from Chicago to Boston, where a flamboyant producer on the skids tries to maneuver his former protegee/lover turned Hollywood movie queen back to the stage in his last-chance theatrical venture. |
